Outdoor String Fairy Lights | Christmas Time Treasures

Everyone enjoys the beauty of outdoor string lights on the homes in our communities and neighborhoods. Each year, it seems I discover a new way to hang lights on our home by simply looking around. I absolutely love these string fairy lights, which are actually just a longer version of the popular icicle lights! They are hung to drop from the top in a fabulous shower of of lights. They could be hung from the roof line of a home, from a balcony or even from the roof of a arbor, trellis, or pergola (shown in the photos below). Some of the lights could even be hung inside your home.

These sting lights truly make a beautiful curtain of lights for your home.

The light strings are rated with waterproof performance, although the controller box does require waterproof protection.

The lights have 8 lighting modes and can be set for twinkle, steady, slow fade or more. They can be set on a timer and the brightness is also adjustable.

It would take several sets of lights to get the overall effect shown in the photo. Before you buy, determine the length of area you wish to cover in order to obtain your desired appearance.

This set of Curtain string lights would make an awesome way to decorate free standing structures in your yard. A pergola or arbor would make the perfect place to decorate and add lights beyond the front of the house.

Not all of the light manufacturers recommend their lights for indoor use, however the AGPtek brand shown on the right would be appropriate for indoor use.

If you do want to use these sets outside, you would need to cover the controller box. It is not weather resistant and could be easily ruined in rain or snow.

While the photos do show them used outside, this particular set would most likely be better used inside a window in your home where the lights can be viewed and enjoyed both inside and outside. Or, perhaps, on a covered patio area or covered entrance.

About the Fairy String Lights

It does take some time and patience to separate the fairy sting lights. When you remove them from the box, they are a jumble of strings and lights. You will need to lay them out in the yard first or on a floor to separate the strings and make them easier to hang.

Due to the length of each light strand, hanging these lights really is a two person job. You would want someone holding the other end while you are hanging them to help keep them from tangling together.
